Photos should show the property’s post-fire condition. Photos are private to authorized moderators by default. Upload only photos you took or have permission to provide. Avoid faces, licence plates, people, interiors/valuables, and anything revealing who is or is not at a property. Photos showing severe destruction, personal loss, injury/death, distressed animals, or other traumatic aftermath may also be kept private to avoid unnecessary distress. Private evidence is not released by this project to homeowners or other third parties.

What is the basis for this post-fire report? Tell moderators who saw the property, when it was seen, and how you know its condition. Do not name residents, accuse anyone of causing the fire, or include private contact information here. A short comment is required if you submit without a photo. The status I am reporting is based on an observation made after the fire moved through or threatened this area, or on a later trusted confirmation — not only on how the property looked before evacuation or while the fire was approaching. I am submitting this in good faith. I did not enter a restricted, unsafe, or unauthorized area to collect it; I authorize approved report details to be displayed for this community map; and I understand authorized moderators may privately contact me, including by email, to verify my submission or explain a correction needed before it can be approved. Private evidence stays inside moderation and is not released by the project to third parties. Photos stay private unless I separately opt in above, the image is suitable for unrestricted public viewing, and a moderator approves it. The project may still keep a permitted photo private for privacy, security, dignity, or unnecessary-distress concerns.

Your name, email, and other contact information are always private. Evidence photos are private to authorized moderators by default and are not released by this project to a homeowner, requester, insurer, media outlet, or other third party. If someone asks about private evidence, the project may offer to relay their contact information to the original submitter, who can decide whether to contact them directly. A photo can appear publicly only when the submitter explicitly opts in and an authorized moderator separately approves that photo for unrestricted public viewing. Permission is not a promise of publication. Images may be withheld because of privacy/security concerns or because severe destruction, personal loss, injury/death, distressed animals, or other traumatic aftermath could cause unnecessary distress. Reports supported by privately reviewed photo evidence may still use the reported status colour even when the photo itself remains private. Reports without photo evidence may be published in blue only after moderator review, as moderator-reviewed community reports without photo evidence.
